Assam: Two more people have been arrested in Assam for allegedly making statements in support of Pakistan. So far a total of 58 people have been arrested in this case. This action was started after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave this information on social media on Tuesday.
Chief Minister warned
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that both the newly arrested accused are residents of Sonitpur district. He said, “So far 58 Pakistan supporters have been sent to jail. They will get special care for anti-national activities.” The Chief Minister warned that this action will continue throughout the state and no one will be spared.

Preparations to impose NSA
The Chief Minister had said in a press conference in Guwahati last week that some of those who have been arrested on charges of treason will also be charged under the National Security Act (NSA). He clearly said that anyone who speaks against India or stands in support of the enemy country will be given strict punishment under the law.
Action also taken against opposition MLA
Earlier, AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam was arrested on charges of treason. He is accused of defending Pakistan and criticizing India over the Pahalgam attack. This attack took place on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed. This area is a famous tourist destination and this terrorist attack shook the entire country.
