Mumbai attack conspirator and dreaded terrorist Tahawwur Hussain Rana has been brought to India from America. Rana has been taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for 18 days. Now he is being asked to reveal many secrets related to the Mumbai attack. Rana’s lawyer in America had tried his best to stop his extradition to India, but all the arguments failed.
Rana’s lawyer gave four arguments
Tahawwur Rana’s lawyer had written a mail to US State Secretary Marco Rubio requesting to stop his extradition. Four major arguments were given in this mail. The first argument was that Rana has already been tried in the US, in which he has been acquitted, so now a second trial in the same case in India would be wrong and this would also raise questions on the US justice system.
Muslim card and plea for health
In the second argument, Rana’s partner David Headley was convicted by the US court and Rana was acquitted. The third argument was the Muslim card – the lawyer said that there is a BJP government in India and Muslims are oppressed there. Therefore, Rana, a Muslim of Pakistani origin, may have to face persecution in India. In the fourth argument, Rana’s deteriorating health was cited and it was said that he has been ill for the last five years.

However, America rejected all these arguments and decided to send Tahawwur Rana to India. Now he is in the custody of NIA and many big revelations related to the 26/11 attack are being made from him. It is believed that his arrest can also expose the other faces involved in this attack and the Pakistani conspiracy.
