While people in America have come out on the streets against Trump’s policy, the stock markets of the whole world including India have seen a decline. DK Shivkumar appeals to PM Modi to give a clear statement
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a clear stand on this issue. He said, “Prime Minister Modi should make a clear statement on this issue because the protection of the Indian market is important. We have to protect the Indian industry. A meeting of all parties should be called and this should be discussed, because the common people are suffering huge losses due to this fall.”

Rahul Gandhi attacks Modi government
On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the massive fall in the stock market. Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that the reality is in front of us today due to US President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, but Prime Minister Modi is nowhere to be seen. He also stressed that India has to accept this reality and focus on a production-based economy.
Global stock markets fall, Indian markets also affected
Global stock markets witnessed a sharp decline following the US tariff hike and China’s response. The Sensex and Nifty fell more than five per cent in early trade on Monday. Rahul Gandhi posted on Instagram, “Trump has exposed our false hopes. The truth is before us. PM Modi is nowhere to be seen.” He further said, “India must now accept the truth. We have no choice but to build a strong and production-based economy that works for all Indian citizens.”
