Gauhati High Court, Guwahati has released a notification for the recruitment of 367 posts of Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) in District Courts of Assam. This recruitment is an important opportunity for graduate youth to get a permanent and prestigious government job. The application process has started from 15th July 2025 and interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal.
Detailed details of district wise vacancies
Under this recruitment process, the vacancies in various districts of Assam have been divided according to reserved categories. Out of a total of 367 posts, 191 posts are unreserved, while 30 are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 42 Scheduled Tribes (Plains), 20 Scheduled Tribes (Hills), 79 OBC/MOBC and 5 posts are reserved for PwBD category. The highest number of vacancies are in Charaideo (25 posts), South Salmara (26 posts), Kamrup Metro (22 posts), and Sonitpur (16 posts) districts.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
To apply for these posts, the candidate must be a graduate from any recognized university. Also, the candidate must have a computer knowledge certificate of at least 3 months and knowledge of the official language of Assam (Assamese). The candidate must also be registered with the employment office of Assam State. The age limit is 18 to 40 years for general category, 43 years for OBC/MOBC, 45 years for SC/ST and 50 years for Divyang category.
Selection Process – Assessment will be done in three stages
The selection process will be done in three stages. The first stage will be a general written examination (120 marks) in which questions will be asked from English, General Knowledge, Reasoning and Assamese language. The Assamese language paper will be only for determining merit. The second stage will be a computer skill test (35 marks) which will include typing test and spreadsheet/word processor test. The third and final stage will be viva-voce (15 marks). The final selection will be done at the district level on the basis of marks obtained in all three stages.
Application Fee and Procedure
The application fee for SC/ST candidates is ₹250 while for all other categories it is ₹500. No fee will be charged from Divyang category candidates. The fee will be paid through challan in any branch of SBI Bank. Candidates are advised to complete the application process with all the documents and educational certificates before the last date.
