PM Modi visit Assam: Preparations are going on in full swing in the state for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Assam on September 13. On Thursday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Numaligarh and reviewed the arrangements. Modi will inaugurate the country’s first bio-ethanol refinery here on September 14. This refinery has been prepared under Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) at a cost of Rs 7,200 crore. Through this project, ethanol will be made from bamboo and many co-products will also be obtained. Chief Minister Sarma said that earlier bamboo was considered only a forest commodity, but under the leadership of PM Modi, it has got a new identity in the global market from a commercial point of view.
New gift of economic development
After the inauguration of the refinery in Numaligarh, Prime Minister Modi will address a huge public meeting at Tanker Maidan, in which about 1 lakh people are expected to attend. During this visit, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the polypropylene project to be built at a cost of Rs 7,000 crore. The project was presented during Advantage Assam 2.0 and has been completed in just six months. Chief Minister Sarma said that this visit will bring new energy to the economy of Assam and bring prosperity especially to the farmers.

‘Neem Corridor’ and Green Initiative
To make this event eco-friendly, Numaligarh has been decorated under a special initiative. A 2.2 km long ‘Neem Corridor’ has been constructed here, in which more than 600 neem plants have been planted. This route goes from the refinery to the rally site and through this route Prime Minister Modi will reach the stage. This initiative was taken forward by Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia and he presented a ‘Green Warrior Khumtai’ T-shirt to Chief Minister Sarma, which the CM wore during the inspection. The Chief Minister also said that before PM Modi’s program, Kaziranga National Park can be opened between 20 and 22 September before Durga Puja, which will boost tourism and provide relief to local traders.
Cultural program and emotional attachment
This visit of Prime Minister Modi will not only be of industrial and economic importance but will also be important from the cultural point of view. On September 13, he will also participate in the birth centenary celebrations of great cultural personality Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati. This will also add an emotional and cultural attachment to the tour. Chief Minister Sarma said that this program of Modi will be like a festival for the people of Assam and this will further strengthen the identity of the state at the national and international level.
