PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 18,530 crore to accelerate infrastructure and industrial development in Assam. These projects include major schemes like Guwahati Ring Road Project, Darang Medical College and Hospital, GNM School and BSc Nursing College. Targeted Congress
In his address, Prime Minister Modi also directly attacked the Congress. He said that the statement of the Congress Party President about the pride of Assam and the great son of the country Bhupen Hazarika ji, who was recently awarded Bharat Ratna, was very unfortunate. Modi said, “When the Government of India gave Bharat Ratna to Bhupen Da, the Congress President made a derogatory remark saying that Modi is giving Bharat Ratna to those who sing and dance.” PM Modi called it an attack on the culture and identity of Assam. During this, when a child brought a picture of his mother, the PM became emotional and a special scene of human sentiments was seen in the meeting.
