Indian production company Bodhitree Multimedia has signed a Rs 5000 crore (US$57.8 million) deal with the Assam government. The agreement aims to set up a media hub in Guwahati. The company believes that this partnership will work towards transforming Guwahati into “an important hub for film, television and cultural activities” and will also boost Assam’s global identity.
Major facilities included in the scheme
Several major facilities will be constructed under the project, including a media city, a luxury seven-star wellness resort and an ‘Immersive India Pavilion’ that will showcase the country’s cultural diversity. The aim is to boost economic growth, generate employment and encourage tourism through these facilities. This hub will not only generate opportunities for the local people but will also establish Assam as a prominent destination internationally.
