Statement of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

On the violence in Murshidabad, the state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has appealed to the people to maintain peace. She urged people to avoid provocation and stay away from misinformation. Mamata said, “We live once and die once, then why do riots happen? Every caste and religion has the right to protest, but do not take the law into your own hands. Some people are trying to mislead you, do not pay attention to them.” The Chief Minister said that those who maintain peace despite provocation are the real winners.
