After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaki. In this conversation, Jaishankar praised Muttaki for condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 innocent civilians were killed in this attack, which caused anger across the country. During the conversation, Jaishankar also mentioned the allegations of Pakistan launching a missile attack on Afghan soil. Also expressed concern over the reports that are trying to create a rift in the relations between India and Afghanistan.

Emphasis on traditional friendship with Afghans
Jaishankar reiterated India’s traditional friendship with the Afghan people during this period. He said that India will always cooperate in the development of Afghanistan. Along with this, the two countries also discussed ways to further advance mutual cooperation. India is already helping in the field of education, health and infrastructure in Afghanistan and this cooperation will continue in future as well. Jaishankar also attended the inauguration of the Embassy of Honduras
Before this meeting, on Friday, S Jaishankar inaugurated the Embassy of Honduras in Delhi. Honduras Foreign Minister Enrique Reina was also present with him on this occasion. At the inauguration ceremony, Jaishankar said that this embassy will give a new direction to the relations between the two countries. He also praised the solidarity of Honduras in which he gave the message of opposing all forms of terrorism.
