After the Pahalgam attack, tension has increased on the border between India and Pakistan. Pakistan is furious over the ban on the Indus Water Treaty and in this irritation, it is continuously firing on the LoC and the international border. The Indian Army is also giving a befitting reply to this. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave a befitting reply to Pakistan by posting on Instagram on Wednesday. He said that the India-Pakistan war is an example of valor and victory. Since independence, the Indian Army has repeatedly fought Pakistan’s aggression and protected the sovereignty of the country.
Every time India gave a crushing defeat to the enemy
CM Sarma reminded that whenever Pakistan has tried to challenge the unity and integrity of India, our soldiers have given a befitting reply to the enemy. He discussed the four wars fought between India and Pakistan—the first Kashmir war of 1947-49, the war of 1965, the war of 1971 and the Kargil war of 1999. Sarma said that in all these wars, the Indian army not only defeated the enemy but also proved that we are ready to pay any price to protect every inch of India’s land. He praised the valor and strategy of the Indian army.

Since independence, India’s brave armed forces have repeatedly stood tall, defending our nation’s sovereignty against Pakistani aggression. Each time Pakistan dared challenge India’s unity and integrity, our soldiers…— Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) April 30, 2025
India’s victory story from 1947 to 1971
Recalling the first Kashmir war (1947-49), Sarma said that soon after independence, Pakistan attacked Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army secured the valley by conducting an airlift operation in Srinagar and made it clear that Kashmir is an integral part of India. In 1965, Pakistan launched Operation Gibraltar and infiltrated, but the Indian Army pushed it back and captured important areas like Haji Pir Pass. After this, in the 1971 war, the Indian Army brought Pakistan to its knees in 13 days. 93,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered and a new country Bangladesh was formed. In this war, India presented a wonderful example of humanity, bravery and diplomacy.
India again showed strength in Kargil
Referring to the 1999 Kargil war, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Pakistan again tried to capture India’s peaks by deceit. But our soldiers fought in the snowy mountains and inaccessible areas and regained every peak. This victory once again proved the strength and determination of the army in protecting India’s borders. He said that every time India has shown restraint and power and has shown the enemy its place when needed. India’s military tradition and courage are an example for the whole world.
