Even before the assembly elections in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a big victory in the Panchayat elections. This time the BJP alliance has won 348 seats unopposed. Out of these, 325 seats have gone to the account of the BJP alliance while Congress and other parties have been able to capture only 23 seats. These results have come out after the last date of withdrawal of nominations and even before this, the BJP has shown its strength in the state politics.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma gave information
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a post on social media platform X (earlier Twitter) to inform about this victory. Sharing a chart, he said that the BJP alliance has so far won 37 Zilla Parishad and 288 Zonal Panchayat seats without a single vote being cast. He called it a historic moment in the political history of Assam and called it a proof of the growing popularity of BJP in the state.
Yesterday marked the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the upcoming Panchayat elections. As per reports received so far, the NDA has already secured 37 Zila Parishad (35 BJP and 2 AGP) and 288 Anchalik Panchayat (259 BJP and 29 AGP) seats unopposed.

Told the love of the people the reason for victory
Expressing gratitude to the public in his post, the Chief Minister wrote that this victory reflects the unprecedented love of the people of Assam for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA. He said that the victory achieved without casting a single vote has been possible due to the hard work of the party workers and the trust of the people. CM Sarma said that BJP workers are going from village to village and communicating with the people and solving their problems.
Seats may increase further in the final results
CM Himanta has also expressed confidence that as the election process progresses and the final results come out, the NDA will win more seats. He said that the BJP is contesting the panchayat elections with full preparation and is promising development and stability in the state. This initial victory has filled the BJP workers with enthusiasm and the party is now going to enter the next phase of elections with full confidence.
