The Assam government has given good news for the state employees and pensioners. The state government has increased their Dearness Allowance by more than 2 percent. This increase will be effective from January 1, 2025. According to ANI news, this decision has been approved by the Assam Cabinet. Giving information about this, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that we will increase the salary of the employees by 2 percent before Bihu, and arrears will also be given in the months of April and May. This decision is going to benefit lakhs of government employees and pensioners.

Dearness allowance increased to 55 percent

Last year in October 2024, the Assam government had increased the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners by 3 percent. Now after this new increase, the dearness allowance will increase from 53 percent to 55 percent. This increase has been done after the 2 percent increase in March 2024 for central government employees and pensioners. The dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners has also increased from 53 percent to 55 percent. This increase will also increase the salary of state government employees, but this increase will depend on their basic salary. The higher the basic salary, the higher will be the salary increase.

‘Loan Guarantee Fund Scheme’ launched for farmers

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced another important scheme for the farmers of the state on this occasion. He said that we have launched the ‘Loan Guarantee Fund Scheme’ to provide better financial support to the farmers. The scheme aims to empower Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) so that they can move towards a more sustainable and prosperous future. The Chief Minister also informed that recently the Kadambandha Railway Overbridge in Jorhat has been opened to the public, which is the fourth overbridge of the state government.
