Gauhati University has released the official notification for B.Ed Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET) 2025 on 19th June 2025. Through this exam, admission will be given to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course in the university. This exam is being conducted for the academic session 2025-26. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 25th June to 7th July 2025.
Exam Details and Syllabus
GUBEDCET 2025 will be a written exam based on OMR sheet. The exam will be held on 20th July 2025 (Sunday) and its duration will be 120 minutes. The exam will have a total of 100 multiple choice questions, which will be of a total of 400 marks. The question paper will include subjects like General English, General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability and Teaching Aptitude. The exam centers have been set up in various districts of Assam, including Guwahati, Tezpur, Nagaon, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh and others.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee
Candidates must have a BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc or MCom degree from a recognized university to appear in the exam. General category candidates must have at least 50% marks, while SC, ST, OBC and Divyangjan categories have been given relaxation of 45% marks. To apply, a fee of ₹ 2000 will have to be paid online, which can be paid through debit card, credit card or net banking.
How to apply? Know the step-by-step process
First of all, candidates have to create a new account by visiting the official portal. Then login and fill personal and educational information in the application form. After this, recent passport size photo, signature and other necessary documents have to be uploaded. In the last step, the form has to be submitted by paying an application fee of ₹ 2000. After successful submission, the candidate will receive a receipt, which must be kept safe for future use.
Important Dates and Admit Card
All the major dates related to the exam have already been announced. The last date to apply is July 7, 2025, while the admit card will be available on July 14, 2025. The exam will be held on July 20 and the merit list will be published on July 28, 2025. Candidates should keep checking the website from time to time so that they do not miss any information.
