GATE 2026: There is great news for the students preparing for engineering and higher education. The registration process for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will start from tomorrow i.e. 25th August 2025. This time Gate 2026 is being organized by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Interested candidates will be able to apply online by visiting the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The last date to apply without late fee is 25 September 2025, while the last date with late fee has been fixed as 6 October 2025. After this, candidates will not get the opportunity to apply.
How to apply for Gate 2026
Candidates willing to appear in the exam have to follow some easy steps to apply. First of all, candidates have to visit the official website of Gate gate2026.iitg.ac.in. After this click on the link “GATE 2026 Registration” available on the home page. Here on the new page, candidates have to register themselves. After registration, candidates login to the portal with their login credentials and fill the online application form. After filling the application, candidates have to pay the prescribed application fee. After paying the fee and submitting the application form, download its confirmation slip and keep a printout of it for future need.
Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2026
To apply for GATE 2026, candidates have to fulfill certain educational eligibility conditions. Candidates who are pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities from a recognized institute and are in the third year or above will be eligible to apply. Apart from this, candidates who have completed their degree can also apply. Also, candidates who are pursuing or have done an equivalent degree from abroad can also appear in this exam. However, it is necessary to ensure that their degree or certificate is recognized by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC and is considered equivalent to BE/BTech/BArch/BPlanning etc.
