GATE 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has extended the registration window for GATE 2026 with a late fee. Candidates wishing to apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2026 can now submit their applications by paying the prescribed late fee on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in, until October 13, 2025. Candidates can apply for GATE 2026 by following the steps below:
- First, visit the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- On the homepage, click on the GATE 2026 registration link.
- Enter your details to register.
- Candidates can now fill out the application form and pay the application fee.
- Then click Submit and download the page.
- Finally, keep a printout of it for future reference.
Application Fee
During the extended period, the application fee for female/SC/ST/PWD* candidates is ₹1,500 (per exam paper) and for all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the application fee is ₹2,500 (per exam paper). The fee must be paid online. The last date for applying with a late fee was previously October 9, 2025, which has now been extended to October 13.
When will the exam be held?
GATE 2026 will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2025, and the results will be declared on March 19, 2025. For more information, candidates are advised to visit the official IIT GATE website.
