Pan-India star: Every year, Bollywood and the South Indian film industry release numerous films, some of which are hits and some of which flop. But some superstars’ films are so special that they set box office records forever. Today, we’re talking about a pan-India star renowned worldwide for his outstanding acting skills. Whenever his new film is announced, people eagerly await its release, and when it is released, it creates a sensation across the globe. He is the only Indian actor to have created box office history with two blockbuster films in just seven years. We’re not talking about Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, or Jr. NTR, but Prabhas.
The First Pan-India Star
Prabhas’s two pan-India films, which grossed over ₹1,000 crore worldwide, make him the first pan-India star of Indian cinema. Prabhas was born to South Indian producer Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju and Shiva Kumari. Films like “Baahubali” made Prabhas India’s first pan-India star. Today, Prabhas turns 46. He has made a splash at the Indian box office with blockbuster films like “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” and “Kalki 2898 AD.”
Prabhas made his acting debut in 2002 with the Telugu film “Eeshwar,” but his real recognition came with “Varsham.” South Indian actor Prabhas made history with two blockbuster films, becoming the first Indian actor to have two pan-India films join the 1000 crore club. Released in 2017, “Baahubali 2” created a sensation at the box office, grossing ₹17.88 billion worldwide, according to SaccNilk. Last year, his film “Kalki 2898 AD” also won the hearts of audiences, making history by grossing ₹1042.25 crore.
Prabhas Receives Special Recognition
Prabhas is the first South Indian actor to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Bangkok. He is also the first actor to be featured in Eastern Eye magazine. In 2021, Prabhas was also named Asia’s Most Handsome Man. Amazingly, Prabhas risked four years of his career to play the lead role in both parts of SS Rajamouli’s epic film “Baahubali.” During this time, he did not sign any other film or appear in any advertising.
This dedication and commitment of Prabhas’s makes him special not only in India but also across the world. The impact of his films and the diversity of his acting have established him as a pan-Indian star. Films like Baahubali and Kalki not only validate his talent but also leave an indelible mark in the hearts of audiences. Prabhas’s career demonstrates that perseverance, hard work, and dedication can lead any artist to global recognition.
