Congress Protest: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has again summoned Robert Vadra in the Gurugram land deal case. This summon has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Vadra himself reached the ED office on foot today. Earlier, summons were also sent to Vadra on April 8, but he did not appear before the ED that day.

When Robert Vadra reached the ED office, a large number of Congress workers were also present there. Congress workers raised slogans against the government. During this, Vadra also greeted his supporters i.e. Congress workers. Vadra told the media that this is political revenge and the government is misusing central agencies.

Inquiry on Vadra continues
ED is questioning Vadra regarding the Gurugram land deal. The central investigating agency is investigating financial irregularities related to Vadra’s company Skylight Hospitality. According to ED, Vadra’s company bought a 3.5 acre land located in Shikofur, Gurugram from Omkareshwar Properties for ₹ 7.5 crores in February 2008. After this, Vadra’s company sold this land to real estate company DLF for ₹ 58 crores.

The central agency suspects that this money could be part of a money laundering scheme, so the ED is investigating the money trail behind this windfall. This issue is being raised prominently during the questioning of Vadra, and further investigation in the case is underway.
