The CM Vigilance Team of Assam Police on Monday raided the residence of ACS officer Nupur Bora in Guwahati. In this action, about Rs 90 lakh in cash and gold jewelery worth more than Rs 1 crore were recovered. The total value of the recovered property is estimated to be around Rs 2 crore. The raid was led by SP Rosie Kalita of CM Vigilance Cell, who is counted among the sharp female police officers of Assam and is considered a confidant of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Nupur Bora surrounded by serious allegations of corruption
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that Nupur Bora was under surveillance for the last six months. Bora is accused of helping illegal settlers and getting them illegal registration of government and satra land while being the Circle Officer in Barpeta district. SP Rosie Kalita said that there are many corruption charges against Bora and this recovery is just a preliminary action. More shocking revelations and evidence may come to light in the coming days.

Who is Rosie Kalita?
Rozi Kalita is an SP rank officer in Assam Police and is working as Superintendent of Police of Chief Minister Vigilance Cell. She leads investigations related to corruption. Rosie Kalita is the first woman police officer of Assam to be awarded the President’s Police Gallantry Medal. Apart from this, she has also received the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service and Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation. She has also been a part of the SIT team formed to investigate the Pakistan connection of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, which has recently submitted its report to the CM.
Rozi Kalita’s previous major actions
The CM Vigilance Cell under the leadership of Rosie Kalita has taken many major actions in the past. In the year 2022, under her leadership, Assam IPS officer Rounak Ali Hazarika was arrested, who was accused of making several foreign trips without permission. Apart from this, under her leadership, retired ADC Cyber Rahman was arrested in 2021, who was accused of possessing illegal assets worth more than Rs 100 crore. However, he was later granted bail. These continuous actions have put Rosie Kalita in the list of the toughest and most honest police officers of Assam.
