CM Sarma took a big action against traitors in Assam, tightened the noose on Pakistan support

After the Pahalgam terror attack, the police crackdown on those supporting Pakistan in Assam is increasing continuously. CM Himanta Sarma informed on the social media platform ‘X’ late on Sunday night that people who were supporting Pakistan while living in India have been arrested from three more districts of the state. So far a total of 42 people have been arrested in this case.

Fresh arrests from three districts

Chief Minister Sarma said that on Sunday one person each was arrested from Barpeta, Hojai and Chirang districts. All of them are accused of speaking in favor of Pakistan through social media and other means. The Chief Minister wrote in his post, “Action is going on against the traitors supporting Pakistan on Indian soil. So far a total of 42 traitors have been sent to jail.”

Clear message of the government: Sedition will not be tolerated

This action of the Chief Minister is not only a legal but also a political message that anti-national activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also stressed that the Assam government will take strict action against anyone who tries to harm the security and unity of the country. The government has instructed the police of all districts to take immediate action in such cases and keep a close watch on anti-national activities.

Vigilance increased after Pahalgam attack

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the vigilance of security agencies has increased across the country. Especially the surveillance has been intensified on inflammatory posts on social media, Pakistan-supported statements and those who sympathize with terrorist activities. In Assam, Chief Minister Sarma himself is monitoring this campaign and is also giving regular updates. He made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone who stands against the country.
