Scene of devastation and relief efforts in Himachal
Himachal Pradesh has been battling severe floods and landslides since the monsoon began on 20 June 2025 this year. So far, 133 major landslides, 95 flash floods and 45 cloudbursts have occurred in the state. These natural disasters killed 366 people, closed 866 roads and damaged 1,572 power transformers. Thousands of people have been rendered homeless and are in a state of rehabilitation. In such a situation, the financial assistance and relief material sent by Assam will play an important role in the ongoing rescue operations. This interstate cooperation will not only provide support to the victims but will also become a symbol of unity, hope and resilience in the country.
