Japanese delegation: These days, the three-day visit of a high-level delegation from Japan to Assam has become a topic of discussion. The delegation includes members of the Japanese Parliament, ministry officials and big businessmen. Investment will be boosted under ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’

In his address, the Chief Minister mentioned ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ and shared information about the changing climate and possibilities of investment in the state. He said that Assam is no longer just a state but is becoming a hub of investment and many positive initiatives were taken in this direction during his visit to Japan. He said that the youth of Assam can play an important role in the healthcare and elderly care sector of Japan. In this connection, he announced that a Japanese language and testing center would be started at the ASEAN One Technical Center in Amingaon which will enhance the language proficiency and employability of the youth.

‘Bridging Age – Skill Building’ dialogue became the center of discussion

A special thing about this tour was that there was an in-depth discussion on the topic “Bridging Age – Skill Building”. The focus of this topic was on the difference between Assam’s average age of 22.7 years and Japan’s average age of 49.5 years. Looking at Assam’s young population, it was concluded that it can become an excellent skilling partner for Japan. There is a huge potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of language, healthcare and technology. Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota gave a detailed presentation on the strategic location of Assam and its multidimensional development areas. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Nandita Garlosa, Japan’s Ambassador to India Keiichi Ono and many senior government officials were also present on this occasion.
