Kerala: A major accident took place in Kerala’s Ernakulam district on Sunday. The accident occurred when the temporary gallery of spectators collapsed during the final match of a local football tournament held at the football ground of Danar Public School. 35 people have been seriously injured in this accident. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment. After the accident, the police have registered a case against the organizers.
The accident happened at 10 pm on Sunday
The accident happened at around 10 pm on Sunday night when the number of spectators increased shortly before the start of the football match. About 2,000 people had reached the ground to watch the final of the football match. Suddenly, due to the excessive crowd, the temporary gallery started tilting and within a short time a part of the gallery collapsed. This part of the gallery was made of iron and betel nut tree wood, which did not meet the safety standards.

At the time of this accident, a temporary gallery was built for the spectators to sit, which was prepared from iron pipes and wood of betel nut tree. A large number of people had come to watch the final of the football match. As the number of spectators increased, the pressure on the gallery started increasing. Suddenly a part started falling and gradually the whole part started bending backwards. After this the gallery collapsed and the spectators started falling on each other.
Chaos broke out due to the collapse of the gallery
As soon as the gallery collapsed, there was chaos in the field. People started screaming and started falling on each other. Some people fell down from the gallery and many people were injured. Due to this accident, the people present on the spot were injured and they were immediately sent to the hospital. The police have started investigating the incident and have registered a case against the organizers.
