BSF Recruitment 2025: The Border Security Force (BSF), which plays a crucial role in securing the country’s international borders, is offering sports talents an opportunity to secure a permanent and respectable job. The BSF has released an official notification for the recruitment of a total of 549 posts under the Constable (General Duty) Sports Quota Recruitment 2025.
Online applications for this recruitment drive will begin on December 27, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official BSF website until January 15, 2026. Applications submitted through any other means will not be accepted. A key feature of this recruitment is that only a 10th-grade pass is required.
Classification of Posts
Out of the total 549 posts, 277 posts are reserved for male athletes and 272 for female athletes. The posts have been distributed in such a way that participants from almost all major sports get a chance to participate in the recruitment.
Opportunities in Multiple Sports
The BSF Sports Quota recruitment includes more than 30 sports. These include athletics, boxing, wrestling, hockey, football, kabaddi, volleyball, shooting, swimming, and yoga. The aim is to provide equal opportunities to talented individuals from various sports.
Age Limit and Reservation
The minimum age for candidates in this recruitment is 18 years and the maximum age is 23 years. The age will be calculated as of August 18, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government rules. SC/ST candidates will receive a 5-year age relaxation, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates will receive a 3-year age relaxation.
Salary and Other Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a salary of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month under Pay Level-3. In addition, they will also receive benefits such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance, and the New Pension Scheme, as applicable to central government employees.
Selection Process
The selection process for the BSF Constable (GD) Sports Quota recruitment will be conducted in several stages. First, there will be online application and scrutiny of sports certificates. This will be followed by document verification, which will involve checking educational and sports certificates. The Physical Standard Test (PST) will include measurements of height, weight, and chest. In the final stage, a merit list will be prepared based on sports achievements. A medical fitness test will be mandatory for all candidates before selection.

The application fee for General and OBC male candidates is ₹159. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are exempted from paying any fee.
