Big step of Assam government, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma opened the box of development, there will be a stir in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, the second capital of Assam, is now moving towards a new identity. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday that two major infrastructure projects are being started in the district, which will cost a total of Rs 493 crore. This includes a new assembly complex and the state’s largest stadium. The Chief Minister informed the press after the cabinet meeting held in Dergaon that Rs 284 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the new assembly building. It will also have a hostel for MLAs and a 1000-seater auditorium along with the main assembly building. This step is being considered an important effort towards further empowering Dibrugarh politically.

Khanikar Stadium will become Assam’s largest sports and entertainment center

Making another big announcement, the Chief Minister said that Dibrugarh’s Khanikar Stadium will now take a completely new look. It will be made a state-of-the-art stadium with a capacity of 35,000 spectators at a cost of Rs 209 crore. This stadium will be bigger than Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati by 10,000 seats. Sarma said that when he had earlier visited Khanikar Stadium, he had already decided that it will be made the biggest stadium of Assam. This stadium will be used not only for big sporting events but also for concerts and big events. This will develop Dibrugarh as a sports and entertainment hub.

Concert economy will increase tourism and the state will earn huge profits

The CM also announced the ‘Concert Economy Policy’ on this occasion, under which Dibrugarh has been included in the cities along with Guwahati and Jorhat where national and international level concerts will be organized. He said that the recent Coldplay concert in Gujarat earned about Rs 600 crore. Now the Assam government wants to compete with Meghalaya in this field as well. Dibrugarh will be presented as a major venue in this direction with modern infrastructure so that big level international artists can come here too. This will not only provide entertainment to the youth but will also boost the state’s economy.

Post Malone’s show will be a glimpse of a new beginning

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that America’s famous and Grammy-nominated singer Post Malone is going to perform in Guwahati on December 8. This will be the first major event under Assam’s ‘Concert Economy’ initiative. Such international shows will give a new flight to the cultural identity of the state. He said that the way Dibrugarh is being developed as a political and cultural center will also strengthen the economic condition of the region in the coming years. The Chief Minister also indicated that more international events will be organized in Dibrugarh and other cities of Assam in the future, which will give the state a new identity on the global stage.
