Social media posts and government’s strictness
The 81 people arrested by the police are from different areas of Assam. These people were apparently posting such posts after the Pahalgam attack which were considered a threat to the unity and integrity of the country. The government identified such people and started taking strict action. Chief Minister Himanta Sarma said that the police have kept a close watch on such elements from the very beginning and have taken every possible step to stop anti-national activities. Assam Police is working with full strictness against those who spread hatred on social media and try to break the country.
Assam government’s resolve of zero tolerance
After the Pahalgam attack, action is being taken against such people in many states of the country. The Assam government seems to be very vigilant in this matter. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has repeatedly said that the government is working on a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards anti-national activities. The strictness of the police is increasing continuously and some public representatives have also been arrested publicly. Sharing the figures of arrests, the Chief Minister said that more strict action is going on in this direction. Assam Police is taking every possible step to maintain the safety of the public and the integrity of the country.
