Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has declared the result of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) i.e. 10th class today. This year a total of 63.98 percent students have passed the exam. Boys have performed better than girls this time. While the pass percentage of boys was 67.59, the pass percentage of girls was recorded at 61.09 percent.
Amishi Saikia tops the list of toppers
This year the honour of topping the exam has gone to Amishi Saikia, a student of Prajna Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat. She has scored 98.50 per cent marks and obtained a total of 591 marks. In the second place with 590 marks (98.33%) is Saptarswa Bordoloi, a student of Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya, Noonmati, Kamrup (M). In the third place is Anirban Borgohain who scored 589 marks or 98.17 per cent.
More than 4.29 lakh students had registered
This year, a total of 4,29,449 students had registered for the HSLC exam, out of which 4,22,737 students appeared in the exam. 6,712 students were absent from the exam. At the same time, 101 students were caught cheating, who have been expelled. The results of 22 students have been withheld.
Sivasagar became the best performing district
Talking about the districts, Sivasagar has performed the best and achieved a passing percentage of 85.55 percent. It is followed by Dibrugarh at second place, where 81.10 percent students have passed. Dhemaji district was at third place, where 80.64 percent result was recorded. Jorhat was at fourth place with 79.61 percent and Nalbari was at fifth place with 78.40 percent. The result was announced by Higher Education Minister in Assam Government Ranoj Pegu through social media. The results can be checked on the official website of SEBA.
