Assam NMMS Exam 2025: Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam (DSE Assam) has released the official notification for the National Means Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam for the year 2025. The exam will be conducted across the state on 15th November 2025. The online application process has started from 22nd July and the last date has been fixed as 30th September 2025. This exam is conducted with the aim of encouraging class 8th students for higher education.
Exam Pattern and Subject Details
The NMMS exam will be a written test consisting of multiple choice questions (MCQ). The exam will be conducted in two parts – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). 90-90 marks have been set for both the sections. MAT will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and SAT from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The exam will be conducted in Assamese, English, Hindi, Bengali and Bodo languages at a total of 143 centers.
Eligibility Criteria and Prerequisites
Only those students can apply for this exam who are currently studying in class 8th and are studying in government or provincialized schools. Students of private schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) can appear in the exam but they will not get scholarship. Additionally, the annual income of the students’ parents should not exceed Rs 3.5 lakh.
Scholarship and Fee Details
Students who are successful in this exam will be provided a scholarship of ₹ 12,000 per year from class 9th to 12th. The exam fee has been fixed at ₹ 200 for general and OBC category students, ₹ 180 for SC-ST category and ₹ 175 for Divyang students. Payment can be made only through online mode like debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

Interested students can apply through https://www.wikipedia.org/.in portal or Bidyarthi mobile app. All the required documents, passport size photo and fee payment receipt have to be uploaded during application. Students are advised to apply before the last date to avoid any technical problem.
