Congress leaders made serious allegations against the BJP government
After the incident, Pradyut Bordoloi alleged that this attack was carried out at the behest of the ruling BJP government of the state. Bordoloi said that the miscreants tried to hit him with sticks and rods but he managed to save his life by hiding behind the vehicle. He told that he and his fellow MLA Bora suffered minor injuries in this attack. MLA Shibamoni Bora said that in his entire political life he had never faced such an incident. Bora alleged that this is the third time he has been attacked after he became an MLA and the BJP has brought politics to the lowest level in the state.
In my nearly three decades in politics, I have never seen such a break down of law and order in Assam as we are witnessing today under BJP rule. Violence is the last refuge of the desperate. No force can silence the will of the people, and our fight will only grow stronger. pic.twitter.com/qxcYkJR6vJ

Strong opposition of Congress leaders and resolve to protect democracy
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal strongly condemned the attack and said that Assam has come under the grip of state-sponsored hooliganism and opposition leaders of the Congress are being targeted. He said that the Congress will not bow down to this politics of fear. Congress’ Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh also described the attack as a ‘brutal and well-planned attack’ and said that the people of Assam will answer it through votes. Let us tell you that for the first time after delimitation in Assam, panchayat elections are going to be held in two phases in 27 districts. The first phase of voting will be held on May 2 and the second phase on May 7, while the counting of votes for both the phases will be held simultaneously on May 11.
