After the debate in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, there has been an earthquake in Assam politics. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, without naming anyone, accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi of speaking in favor of Pakistan. He wrote on social media that the speech of our MP from Jorhat is enough to prove that he speaks on behalf of Pakistan.
Questions also raised on ‘secret foreign trip’ and family’s citizenship
CM Sarma claimed that Gogoi’s secret meetings and closeness to Pakistan’s power say a lot. He also said that the MP’s wife and two children have foreign citizenship and they can leave India at any time. He termed Gogoi as an insult to Assam and a betrayal of Indian pride.
Government surrounded by Gogoi’s questions in Parliament
Gaurav Gogoi asked many sharp questions in the Lok Sabha. He asked how the terrorists entered an area like Pahalgam with so much security. He also raised the question that why the five terrorists were not caught even after a hundred days of the attack. He raised questions on the defense system and intelligence.

Questions were also raised on the loss of fighter planes like Rafale
Gogoi wanted to know from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh how many of our fighter planes have crashed. He said that it is important to know this not only for the public but also for the soldiers because the truth is being hidden from them too. He accused the government of hiding the truth.
Issue of sudden ceasefire on Operation Sindoor
The Congress MP also asked the government that when the whole country was supporting Operation Sindoor, why was a sudden ceasefire declared on May 10. He said that US President Donald Trump has said many times that he put pressure on India and Pakistan to stop the war. Gogoi asked whether India surrendered under external pressure.
