Assam BJP unit has demanded the arrest of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind leader Mahmood Madani. BJP says that Madani’s recent statement has hurt the self-respect and identity of Assam. The party alleges that Madani has compared the encroachment removal campaigns going on in the state with the incidents in Gaza and Palestine, which is an attack on the identity of the people of Assam. BJP said that Madani sees the problems of Assam only from the prism of the Muslim community, whereas this issue is related to the self-respect and local rights of the state.

BJP spokesperson Jayant Kumar Goswami demanded the state police to immediately arrest Mahmood Madani and punish him for his controversial statements. He alleged that during the tenure of the previous Congress governments, outside intruders and encroachers were given protection, due to which government and forest land of Assam was occupied. Goswami said that these activities have endangered the social, political, cultural and economic structure of Assam. The BJP believes that such statements not only fuel controversy but also attempt to undermine the indigenous identity of Assam.
Actions of Assam government and protection of indigenous rights
The BJP spokesperson further said that the current BJP government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken several steps to protect the rights of indigenous people. This includes removing encroachers, removing the names of intruders from indigenous-dominated areas and protecting the political rights of local communities. The BJP claims that these efforts have established balance and justice in the state. The aim of the government is to ensure that the land, culture and traditions of Assam are not affected by external influence and the identity of the state remains safe.
Allegations against Congress and allies
The BJP also made serious allegations against the Congress, AIUDF, Raijor Dal and Assam Jatiya Parishad. The party says that if these parties form a government together in the future, leaders like Arshad Madani and Mahmood Madani may become political advisors of Assam, which will increase the dominance of infiltrators in the state. The BJP also alleged that the Congress and its allies, as well as some leftist intellectuals, are promoting the so-called “Madani culture” in Assam. The BJP claims that this trend weakens the indigenous society and local interests of Assam, so it is necessary to stop it.
