Amit Shah Promises End to Infiltration if NDA Wins Assam West Bengal and Tripura

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a series of rallies on Tuesday, the last day of the Assam Assembly election campaign. Amit Shah said that infiltration will completely stop if NDA government is formed in Assam, West Bengal and Tripura in the Northeast. It is worth noting that NDA is in power in Tripura and Assam but Trinamool Congress has been in power in West Bengal for a long time. While addressing rallies in Sribhumi, Hailakandi and Lakhipur of Assam, Shah made big promises. He said that under the BJP rule, the wages of tea garden workers have increased from Rs 94 to Rs 258, we will increase it to Rs 500 per day in 5 years.
Infiltration will be completely stopped.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that infiltration will completely stop with the coming of BJP-led NDA governments in Assam, West Bengal and Tripura. He said that only BJP can save Assam from illegal infiltration and protect its cultural identity. Expressing confidence that BJP will form the government in Bengal, he said that the infiltrators have been identified, and each one of them will be thrown out of the country. Illegal immigrants snatch away jobs, ration and livelihood meant for the local youth, poor families and tea garden workers of Assam. Voting for all 126 seats for the Assam Assembly Elections 2026 will be held on April 9.

Congress is doing appeasement politics

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Congress party is practicing appeasement politics and has failed to take strong action against illegal infiltration, which has had long-term consequences on the demographic and socio-political fabric of Assam. According to an ET report, Amit Shah further said that previous Congress governments weakened legal safeguards by abolishing the 1950 Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act and introducing the IMDT Act in 1983. He claimed that this Act provided protection to illegal immigrants. He also criticized the Congress party for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), saying it was necessary to protect persecuted minorities. Shah said that sustainable development is possible only when there is peace and stability. Progress cannot be sustained without security.
