AIIMS report reveals: Both obesity and low weight are increasing mental stress.

AIIMS report reveals: Khalid Mohsin of Saudi Arabia was the world’s heaviest man weighing 610 kg, who has now become 63 kg. This journey can be very inspiring for those people who think that once the weight increases, it cannot be reduced. Who always feel embarrassed about their weight. But Khalid Mohsin was happy even when he was fat and is happy even now. That is why he is also famous by the name of Smiling Man. Because to reduce obesity, one needs to reduce fat from the body and not just smile on the face. The youth of the country are not understanding this, that is why every second adult is worried about body image. Body image distress is not a disease but a condition in which you remain stressed about your body.

AIIMS and ICMR conducted a joint study, which revealed that both overweight and underweight youth experience mental stress about their body type. This is known as body image distress. According to the study, 49 percent of overweight and 47 percent of underweight youth reported constant anxiety about their weight. This research also revealed that overweight youth lacked confidence and were more hesitant. Underweight youth were more likely to experience stress, loneliness, and embarrassment. In fact, one in four youth feels judged, which is contributing to their mental health. This research also warns that while India’s health policy focuses on obesity, the problems of underweight youth are receiving less attention. Therefore, today we will discuss the ideal weight. Let’s learn from Swami Ramdev how to achieve an attractive and healthy body through yoga.
