The Assam government is pursuing a mission to make communities across the state safer and more empowered. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday that massive investments are being made in police infrastructure to strengthen the state’s internal security system. He emphasized that strengthening law and order is among the government’s top priorities. Sarma also indicated that while many people only make promises, the Assam government is bringing about visible changes on the ground. Several steps are being continuously taken, such as expanding modern police stations, providing access to advanced equipment, and developing a trained police force, to enhance the sense of security and trust among the people.
“Others Promise, We Deliver”: CM’s Message
CM Sarma wrote in a social media post, “While others only pay lip service, Assam is building robust police infrastructure for safer communities. Modern police stations, better equipment, and trained personnel—we are delivering security and peace, not just promises.” He stated that the government strives to ensure that development projects are completed with transparency, efficiency, and speed, so that citizens experience direct benefits. Sarma also clarified that the government is expanding technology and resources in the police department in a model that will ensure administrative strength in the future. Strong law and order in the state not only provides security but also instills confidence in large investors—and this is the government’s long-term goal.
Innovations in Agriculture: ‘Center of Excellence’ Launched in Sonapur
Along with police reforms, the government is also bringing innovations to the agricultural sector. On Monday, the Chief Minister inaugurated a Center of Excellence for Vegetables in the Khetri area of Sonapur, developed with technical assistance from the Israeli government. Sarma described this initiative as an important symbol of India-Israel friendship. He said that Israel is known worldwide for drip irrigation and modern agricultural technology, and now farmers in Assam will also be able to benefit from these technologies. Through this center, farmers will have access to advanced irrigation techniques, seed development, protected cultivation, monitoring systems, and pest-resistant seed production. He explained that over 60 bighas of land has been designated as a demonstration plot for this project, where farmers will be able to learn modern techniques firsthand.

The Chief Minister urged progressive farmers to take maximum advantage of this program. He stated that Israeli technology will enable water savings, improved production, and the development of high-quality vegetables. He stated that the government is committed to making the agricultural sector more profitable and sustainable, and this center is a major step in that direction. Sarma expressed hope that in the coming years, Assamese farmers will not only be proficient in modern irrigation techniques but will also be able to adopt market-competitive, highly productive, and technology-oriented agricultural models. These ongoing efforts in both police infrastructure and agricultural innovation demonstrate that the Assam government is pursuing development in a multifaceted manner, which will directly benefit both citizens and farmers.
