The Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh is not able to control its officers. Sometimes the samosas brought for the Chief Minister are distributed among the security personnel, and sometimes the Chief Secretary organizes a party for the officers and sends the bill to the government. The latest case is of Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Prabhodh Saxena, who has sent the bill of his party to the government.
Prabhudh Saxena sent a bill of Rs 1.22 lakh to the government
Prabhudh Saxena was due to retire on March 31, but the government extended his service for six months. In this situation, he hosted a party for all the officers on March 14 and sent the bill to the government. This party was held at the government hotel Holiday Home in Shimla on the day of Holi. The total bill of the party was Rs 1.22 lakh, which included 77 food packs for the IAS officers and their families, 22 packs for the drivers and taxi fare.
Himachal Pradesh has over one lakh crore in debt, and pensions are stopped.
But the Chief Secretary spent ₹1.22 lakh on a Holi party for 75 IAS officers and their families, then sent the hotel bill to the state treasury.

Misuse of government treasury by bureaucrats
This is not the first time that Himachal Pradesh officials have been accused of misusing the government treasury. Earlier, former chief secretary and RERA chairman Shrikant Baldi was also accused of gifting apple boxes to various officials. The investigation related to these is yet to be completed. There has been no official information from the state vigilance and town and country planning department in this matter.
BJP demanded investigation into the matter
Former BJP minister and MLA Bikram Thakur expressed serious concern over the matter and called it a violation of democratic values, ethical standards and administrative etiquette. He said that Himachal Pradesh has a debt of Rs 1 lakh crore, yet the government and officials are indifferent to the sufferings of the common people. He has demanded an impartial investigation into the matter and disciplinary action against those responsible.
There was a controversy over the CM’s samosa as well
On October 21 last year, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the Cyber Wing Station at the CID headquarters. Here, the samosas and cakes brought for the Chief Minister were distributed among the security personnel. The CID investigated this, in which it was found that only one SI knew that these boxes were especially for the Chief Minister. After this, notices were also issued to five policemen.
