Bihu is celebrated all over the state
There is a festive mood across the state on the occasion of Bohag Bihu and Assamese New Year which will continue till Tuesday. Bihu committees in every corner are organizing events on a large scale. From traditional dance competitions to musical nights, every event is giving platform to local artistes and cultural heroes. Youth groups are continuously engaged in rehearsals and are ready to rock the stage with full enthusiasm.

Bihu is connected to the roots in villages
The charm of Bihu is most special in villages. With the sweet smell of soil, laughter of people and traditional music, the celebration here is filled with a different energy. This celebration is not just a festival but has become a symbol of connection with nature, community and earth. Even in cities where the pace of life is fast, Bihu draws people towards their roots. During holidays from office and schools, people return to their villages, where the warmth of family and tradition embraces them.
