Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday inaugurated the Made-in-India robotic surgery machine ‘Medi Jarvis’ at the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati. This robotic machine will help doctors in cancer treatment and provide support in performing complex surgeries.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities
Inaugurating the robotic machine, Assam Chief Minister Sarma said, “I have inaugurated the Robotic Surgery Unit at the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati. This unit is equipped with modern facilities and will help improve cancer care in the region.”

Doctors will get help
On Saturday, the Chief Minister had said on the social media platform X, “We are set to dedicate a Made-in-India robotic surgery machine to the State Cancer Institute, which is capable of performing complex surgeries with ease.” He also said that this machine will help doctors in performing complex surgeries.

Assam Police appreciated
Also on Saturday, Chief Minister Sarma praised the Assam Police and minority community leaders who helped maintain peace in the state despite warnings of possible unrest over protests against the Waqf Amendment Act. The Chief Minister said the situation remained largely peaceful on Friday, with minor protests reported at three places.
