CBSE Class 12 Results 2026 Under Spotlight Amid Delay Speculations and Anxiety

There is a lot of tension among students and parents regarding the Central Board of Secondary Education’s 12th class results. Speculation is rife on social media and several news portals that the CBSE will delay the release of the 12th board results. Many teachers have also claimed that the checking process is going slow this time and this may delay the results. Some teachers claim that the checking of answer sheets for major subjects like Business Studies and Biology has only recently begun, even though a lot of time has passed since the board exams ended. This has led to questions about the result date.

How are the board copies being checked?

It should be noted that CBSE has implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for the first time. Previously, examiners checked physical answer sheets, but now answer sheets are being scanned and checked on a digital platform. The board stated that this would speed up the evaluation process and increase transparency. However, questions and allegations raised by teachers have pointed to technical difficulties with the new system.

What questions were asked by CBSE?

The 12th grade result isn’t just an exam result, it’s also a crucial step in deciding college admissions, professional courses, and career paths. Therefore, we asked several questions about the claims being made on social media and news portals regarding the delay in results. Furthermore, ABP News questioned the CBSE about the allegations made by teachers and academics. The CBSE was asked if technical glitches in the portal were slowing down the result preparation process. The board was asked if the delayed start of evaluation for some subjects would affect the result date. Furthermore, it was questioned what preparations the board had made to complete the evaluation process on such a large scale on time. Are there any login issues or intermittent server crashes? Are scanned copies loading late, resulting in longer check times for the teachers?

CBSE gave this information

CBSE officials have responded directly to all of ABP News’ questions, stating that they are not facing any such problems and that the results will be declared on time. This year, approximately 1.85 million students took the 12th board exams. Exams were conducted in over 120 subjects, and millions of answer sheets need to be checked. Therefore, completing the evaluation process on time is crucial. Some reports claimed that evaluators are facing difficulties due to the new digital system. Therefore, it was important to clarify whether the situation is truly as serious as reported, or if this is simply a normal part of initial technical challenges.

What response was received from CBSE and sources?

According to information received from official and reliable CBSE sources, there is no immediate delay in the results. The board is preparing to release the results within the stipulated time. Sources clearly stated that the results process is proceeding normally and students need not panic. Evaluation is ongoing, and the board is moving forward with the deadline in mind. Last year, in 2025, the CBSE 12th results were released on May 13th. Students are hopeful that this year too, the results will be released by mid-May.

So many students had given the exam

In 2026 , approximately 1.85 million students appeared for the 12th grade exams. These included approximately 1.02 million boys and 8.3 million girls. The exams were held between February and April. All eyes are now on the results. The board believes that a digital evaluation system is the future. It ensures uniform checking of answer sheets and reduces human error. However, it is not unusual for some technical challenges to arise in the initial stages of implementing a new system.

What are the concerns of students and parents?

Every year, the wait for results is filled with tension and excitement for students. This year, too, the same is true. Students who have taken the 12th exam are now preparing for further studies and college admissions. Many students say that having a clear result date will make planning easier, especially for those who wish to study both domestically and abroad. For those preparing for entrance exams or studying abroad, the timing of the results is crucial.

Students are worried because of this

Questions about the result date are constantly being asked on social media. Some students are confused by the differing reports, while others are awaiting the board’s official announcement. Parents also believe that clear information regarding the results should be available soon to avoid unnecessary rumors. Ayush, a student at a public school in Dwarka, says, “I read many news reports about the results being delayed, which scared me. I have applied to several universities to study in the UK and USA, so I am eagerly awaiting the results.” Neeti, a student at a government school in Central Delhi, says, “My exams went very well, so I am waiting for good results. I am also preparing for entrance exams and am very excited for the results. I am not afraid.”
