CBSE Board Exams 2026 Start Now: What Students Can and Cannot Carry

CBSE Board Class 10 and 12 exams are starting from today. If you are also going to appear in this exam then this news will be very useful for you. Let us tell you that Class 10 exams will be conducted from 17 February to 11 March. Whereas, Class 12 exams are to be conducted from 17 February to 10 April 2026. CBSE 10th and 12th exams will be conducted in a single shift. The exam will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Students will get 15 minutes to read the paper. The board has also issued guidelines for the students appearing in the exam. 

Important Guidelines

  • Students should remember to bring their admit card with them to the examination center. Without the admit card, students will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
  • Students should arrive at the examination center before the scheduled time. Candidates arriving late will not be admitted. Therefore, candidates should leave their homes for the examination center on time. 
  • Students should reach the examination centre before 10 am, because the gates will be closed at 10 am and no one will be allowed to enter after that. 
  • The exam begins at 10:30 a.m. Candidates will have 15 minutes to read the paper beforehand. During this time, they should carefully read the question paper. 

What can I carry to the examination hall?

  • CBSE Admit Card
  • blue ballpoint pen
  • transparent geometry box
  • Pencil, eraser and sharpener
  • transparent water bottle
  • simple clock 

What cannot be taken into the examination hall?

  • Mobile phone, smartwatch, or calculator
  • Any scribbles or notes
  • Bluetooth or other electronic devices

The board has also issued an advisory regarding paper leak and rumours, which said, “CBSE specifically requests parents, students, schools and all concerned stakeholders to remain vigilant and not get misled by unverified news/rumours or fake news.”
