CM Sarma’s statement – Serious allegations against the family

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke openly on the matter at an event on Tuesday. He said, “Dilwar Hussain’s brother is an established mati dalal (land broker). He was arrested in 2021 and a chargesheet was filed against him. Despite this, he was teaching in school, the government did not even suspend him. This means that they were doing such things even while being within the government.” Sarma further alleged that Dilwar Hussain himself is also a dumper businessman and has no journalistic qualifications. He claimed that the family is known as land brokers in the entire Hojai district.

“BJP’s aim is to eliminate such people” – Sarma

After Dilawar was granted bail, Chief Minister Sarma said, “If a Dilawar says that there are irregularities in the bank, does it mean that there is a problem in the bank? A dying bank has become successful today, it has ATMs and new technology, but Dilawar has no knowledge of these things. The misfortune of Assam is that people believe what Dilawar says. We are against such people. The BJP was founded to eliminate such people… It is my job to legally eliminate people like Dilawar and Mahbubul (Chancellor of USTM).” Sarma’s statement has created a stir in political circles, where it is being described as questioning the freedom of the media.
