A senior BJP leader has given a strong indication regarding the UGC regulations; will they be reinstated soon?

Political turmoil has intensified over the rules recently issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Uttar Pradesh BJP spokesperson Harish Srivastava, in an exclusive interview with ABP News, indicated that the government may reconsider the controversial notification.

Harish Srivastava said that when an issue comes before the government, it considers various perspectives before making a decision. He also acknowledged that differences of opinion among political parties are normal, but ultimately, it is the government’s responsibility to consider all aspects seriously.

Regarding the discussion about the resignations of some BJP leaders over the UGC rules, Harish said that he does not have complete information about the reasons for their resignations, but differences of opinion can arise on any decision. This is natural in a democracy. He further added that when the government reconsiders any issue, it ensures that the decision is appropriate.

Regarding the resignation of PCS officer Alankar Agnihotri, he clarified that there are rules and a code of conduct for government service, which must be followed. He said that an investigation is conducted in case of a breach of discipline, and the situation will become clear after the investigation.

Harish said that a person holding a constitutional post should be mindful of their conduct. If there are differences of opinion, one should first resign and then express their views, rather than creating controversy while remaining in office.

This statement makes it clear that there may still be many twists and turns in the UGC controversy, and everyone is watching to see what the government’s strategy will be.
