Comedian and host Nikki Glaser made a triumphant return to the stage at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Hosting the show for the second consecutive year, Glaser had the entire hall roaring with laughter with her candid, sharp, and unapologetic opening monologue. In the star-studded ceremony, she not only poked fun at Hollywood’s biggest names but also tackled some of the year’s most talked-about stories in her signature style. Referring to her second stint as host, Glaser kicked things off with a bang.
Leonardo DiCaprio Gets Trolled
She said, “Just like Wicked, I’m back for the sequel. And just like Frankenstein, I’ve been put together by an unlicensed European surgeon.” This line brought the house down with applause and laughter. In one of the sharpest and most talked-about jokes of her monologue, Glaser targeted Leonardo DiCaprio’s dating history. She said, “Leonardo DiCaprio has had an incredible career. So many iconic performances, worked with every major director, three Golden Globes and an Oscar… and most impressively, you accomplished all of this before your girlfriend turned 30.”

How Leonardo Reacted
The audience couldn’t stop laughing at this joke. However, Glaser then jokingly apologized. She said, “Leo, I’m sorry. That was a cheap shot. I tried not to do it, but honestly, we don’t have anything else on you. Tell us something! I’m serious.” DiCaprio was seen laughing and giving Glaser a thumbs-up in agreement. Glaser also praised this year’s Best Actor winner, Timothée Chalamet. She quipped, “He’s the first actor in history who had to build muscle for a movie about ping-pong.” She also showered praise on Michael B. Jordan for his role in the film “Sinners.”
Jordan couldn’t stop laughing.
Joking about Michael B. Jordan, she said, “Michael played two brothers in ‘Sinners,’ am I allowed to say that? It sounds a little weird. I mean, he played twin brothers. I can’t believe it, we got two Michael B. Jordans!” Hearing this, Jordan, who was sitting with his mother, couldn’t help but burst into laughter. In her monologue, Nikki also touched upon some of the biggest Hollywood controversies of the year, including the Epstein files and industry deals. She took a jab at the Netflix and Warner Bros. deal, saying, “So let’s get down to business. We’ll start the bidding for Warner Bros. at $5, anyone want to bid $5?” She then alluded to the Epstein files, mentioning that there were several A-listers in the room whose names were on a heavily redacted list.
Nikki Glaser also trolled others.
She also called Sean Penn a “sexy leather handbag” and referred to Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson as the “Steve Martin and Martin Short for people with an IQ under 50.” It’s worth noting that Nikki Glaser made her hosting debut at the Golden Globes last year. Her fearless hosting and sharp humor earned her an immediate offer to host again for the 2026 edition. This time too, she proved why she is one of the most fearless and talked-about comedians in Hollywood today.
