Assam News: Unclaimed assets worth over ₹600 lakh belonging to over 500 depositors in two districts of Assam have been resolved. This work was done under the national “Your Money, Your Rights” campaign. The campaign aims to increase financial awareness and assist people in recovering their deposits, insurance claims, and investments.
District-Wide Awareness and Assistance Camps
District-level awareness and assistance camps are being organized in the state until December 31st. In the fourth phase, special camps were organized on Friday in Kamrup Metropolitan and Kamrup districts. The purpose of these camps was to educate the general public about financial matters and help them recover their unclaimed deposits and investments.

UCO Bank Leads in Kamrup Metropolitan
UCO Bank, as the lead bank, organized the camp in Kamrup Metropolitan district under the guidance of the District Collector and the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) of Assam. In Kamrup district, the camp was organized under the aegis of the Youth Development Center, Amingaon. Banks and financial institutions participated in these camps, assisting people in recovering their unclaimed investments and deposits by completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) process.
Assistance with Unclaimed Deposits, Insurance Claims, and Mutual Fund Investments
Help counters were set up in these camps where citizens could obtain the necessary information and assistance to recover their unclaimed deposits, insurance claims, and mutual fund investments. Bank officials verified depositors’ documents and completed the KYC process so they could recover their assets.
Efforts to Promote Financial Awareness
These camps, run under the “Your Money, Your Rights” campaign, are not only resolving unclaimed assets but also increasing financial awareness among the public. This campaign makes the public aware of their rights and empowers them to avoid financial fraud. The state government and banking institutions are working together to make this initiative a success so that all citizens of Assam can access their financial resources in a timely manner.
