Kriti Sanon is currently making headlines for her upcoming film “Tere Ishq Mein” with South superstar Dhanush, which is scheduled for release on November 28th. The film’s trailer has already created a buzz and is being well-received. Kriti also has several other big projects in the pipeline. Recently, there were rumors that Kriti Sanon would be seen in the biopic of tragedy queen Meena Kumari, “Kamal Aur Meena,” but now it’s reported that Kriti has been replaced by Bollywood’s new mom, Kiara Advani, in the film.
Kiara to play Meena Kumari
Kiara Advani has been away from work for the past few months due to her pregnancy. Kiara and Sidharth welcomed their daughter in July this year, and Kiara is currently on maternity leave. She hasn’t announced any new films yet and has also been replaced in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film “Shakti Shalini.” Ananya Panday has taken her place in that film. Earlier, there were reports that Kriti would replace her in ‘Don 3’. However, now it’s reported that Kiara has landed the Meena Kumari biopic.
When will the shooting begin?
According to a report in Mid-Day, Kiara has signed her first film after giving birth to her daughter and will now be seen playing the role of Meena Kumari in Siddharth P. Malhotra’s ‘Kamal Aur Meena’. A source revealed, “Over 500 handwritten letters between Kamal ji and Meena ji, and personal journals about their lives, have greatly helped us in telling this story. It’s a huge honor to direct this incredible true story, although it’s also a great responsibility.” The film’s shooting is expected to begin in the first six months of 2026.
