Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday strongly criticized a social media post by BJP Assam (@BJP4Assam), alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to create a Muslim-free India. Referring to the post on X (formerly Twitter), Owaisi said the post is artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video content that shows that Assam would have a Muslim majority if the BJP were not in power in India. He said the BJP is not merely trying to spread fear for votes, but rather, it is a clear example of their Hindutva ideology.
Declaring the offensive content “genocidal”
Owaisi also recalled that the Patna High Court had previously ordered the removal of offensive AI videos depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother. He said, “The respect for his mother is paramount for all of us. The same principle should apply to this offensive video by the Assam BJP. This video is not only offensive but also genocidal, as it portrays Muslim citizens as a threat and portrays them as a persecuted group.” He said that this is not just a personal attack, but an attempt to target the entire Muslim community.

Questions on BJP’s Social Media Strategy
Owaisi, speaking to The Hindu, said that posting such content is a deliberate effort. He explained that the BJP’s sharing of offensive content against Muslims on social media is not new. Owaisi said, “This was done deliberately. They had adopted this tactic before in Karnataka as well, before the elections. Such content has the potential to incite violence against Muslims.” He also said that this is not limited to Assam or Karnataka, but such incidents are seen across the country.
Attempt to label Muslims as ‘second-class citizens’
Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), also referred to the recent cases filed against Muslims in Bihar. He said that if someone carries a poster like “I Love Muhammad,” the police stop them and call it a new norm. Owaisi said, “These are deliberate attempts to make Muslims feel like second-class citizens of this country. How can we talk about ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’?” He condemned the BJP’s tactics, saying they promote social and religious inequality across the country and increase tensions between communities.
