Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam on Friday on a two-day visit. His first stop will be the centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati. The Prime Minister will attend the event at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara at around 5 pm and address the public present. On this occasion, 1,200 artists will perform Dr. Hazarika’s iconic songs, which will be a cultural festival experience for music lovers.
Tight security and preparations
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Guwahati ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival. The state administration and security agencies have deployed jawans at major sites. Restrictions have been imposed on some routes for traffic control during the event, to ensure a safe and smooth environment for both the public and the Prime Minister.

Inauguration of development projects in Darang district
On September 14, the Prime Minister will visit Darang district. Here he will lay the foundation stone of major projects worth more than Rs 3,600 crore. These include Darang Medical College and Hospital, GNM School and BSc Nursing College. Apart from this, the foundation stone of several road and infrastructure projects will also be laid. The Prime Minister will address a public meeting at around 11 am and inform the public about the new dimensions of development.
Clean energy and industrial development in Golaghat
Prime Minister Modi will later go to Numaligarh in Golaghat district. Here he will inaugurate the Assam Bio-Ethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). This project will help in promoting clean energy, reducing carbon emissions and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Along with this, he will also lay the foundation stone of the polypropylene plant at NRL, which will generate new opportunities for industrial development and employment in Assam.
A gift of development and opportunities for Assam
These projects are expected to bring significant improvements in the field of healthcare, education, connectivity, industrial capacity and adoption of clean energy in Assam. According to officials, these schemes will create new employment opportunities in the state and will empower Assam economically and socially. Prime Minister Modi’s visit will not only honor the culture but will also accelerate the pace of development.
