Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday claimed that the report of the SIT probing the alleged Pakistani links of state Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and his family is very important and sensational. The Chief Minister said that this report points to the gang which is engaged in defaming and insulting the development process of the country.
Foreign nationals involved in the gang

He said that this is not just a political matter but a serious matter related to the sovereignty and security of the country. He warned that such attempts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Recovery of important documents
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the SIT has recovered many important documents, which could pose a threat to the sovereignty of the country. These documents may be related to possible foreign interference and attempts to stop the internal development of the country. He said that the information related to these documents will be made public.
Cabinet review and next steps
The Chief Minister said that the SIT report will first be discussed in detail in the cabinet. Only after this it will be presented to the general public. Along with this, the government is preparing a strategy to take necessary steps. The Chief Minister said that action will be taken keeping in mind the interests and security of the country.
Focus on the security and development of the country
Himanta Biswa Sarma finally stressed that the Government of Assam and India will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the development and security of the country. He appealed to the public to maintain restraint in such matters and support the steps announced by the government. The SIT report is likely to increase political turmoil and after this the political temperature in Assam may rise.
