Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has started its new campus in Dubai. On Thursday, Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated this campus. India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present on this occasion. After the program, the Education Minister said that this is a big leap towards the globalization of Indian education. He said that through this campus, India’s best talent will now reach the whole world. India’s Education Ministry had informed on Tuesday that Dharmendra Pradhan would be on a UAE tour on 10-11 September.
Objective to deepen education cooperation
The main objective of this visit is to strengthen cooperation in the education sector between India and UAE. During this, the first foreign Atal Incubation Center was also started along with the IIM Ahmedabad Campus in Dubai. The Ministry of Education says that the purpose of this visit is to promote excellence in the field of education, encourage innovations and seek new opportunities to meet the aspirations of the youth and students of both the countries. This step will give a new direction to the relations between India and UAE not only in the field of education but also in the field of knowledge and research cooperation.

Sharing the information about the inauguration of the Dubai campus of IIM Ahmedabad, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wrote on Twitter, “It is a matter of great honor for us that the IIM Ahmedabad Dubai Campus was inaugurated by the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This is another big step towards the globalization of Indian education in line with the vision of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This campus of IIM Ahmedabad will take Indian talent to the global stage. Dubai has today hosted the IIM Ahmedabad International Campus, realizing the principle of ‘Indian Spirit, Global Outlook’. Pradhan also expressed gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan for adding a golden chapter to India-UAE knowledge cooperation.
Also visited IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus
During his UAE visit, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met prominent leaders, ministers, policy makers, academicians and representatives of Indian and UAE institutions there. The aim of these discussions was to further strengthen partnership in education, innovation and knowledge exchange. On Wednesday, Pradhan met Sara Musallam, Chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and discussed various topics. Along with this, he also visited the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi campus, which indicated that concrete steps are being taken to further expand cooperation in the education sector between India and the UAE.
