Every year on September 5, Teachers’ Day is celebrated with great pomp all over India. There is a special reason behind celebrating this day. September 5 is the birthday of India’s great educationist, philosopher and politician Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He had said that if his birthday is dedicated to teachers instead of celebrating it personally, it would be more meaningful. Keeping this idea in mind, every year this day is celebrated to honor the hard work and contribution of teachers. Dr. Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President and second President of India, and his contribution in the field of education still inspires.
