Director Mohit Suri’s romantic drama film ‘Saiyyara’ created a stir at the box office as soon as it was released. The film received a tremendous response from the audience and long queues were seen for it in theaters. Videos surfaced from many theaters, in which lovers were seen crying while watching the film. This emotionally filled film touched the audience deeply. Now the wait of the audience is going to end, as this film is going to be released on OTT this month.
The film will stream on Netflix from September 12
Yash Raj Films’ casting director Shanu Sharma has confirmed the OTT release date of ‘Saiyyara’ on social media. Sharing the poster of the film, he wrote – “Streaming from 12th September, Netflix”. After this announcement, all speculations have come to an end. This means that the audience who could not watch this film in the theater, will now be able to enjoy this superhit film on Netflix sitting at home.
‘Saiyaara’ joins the 600 crore club
The film ‘Saiyaara’ was released in theaters on July 18 and from the very first day it recorded a great collection. According to the report of SaccNilk, the film earned around Rs 1.35 crore on the fourth Monday, taking its domestic box office collection to Rs 319.85 crore in 25 days. At the same time, Rs 148.5 crore was earned from overseas. Overall, the worldwide collection of the film is estimated to be around Rs 600 crore. This earning shows how much the audience liked this film and it became one of the most successful films of the year.
The story of ‘Saiyaara’ touched the heart
The story of the film revolves around Vaani (Anita Padda) and Krish (Ahaan Pandey). Vaani is cheated by her partner just before court marriage and is heartbroken. A few months later when she starts a new job, she meets Krish. Krish is an aspiring singer who is also trying to heal his old wounds. Gradually, both of them understand each other’s pain and their friendship turns into a deep relationship. The simplicity and emotional depth of the film kept the audience captivated and this is why the film proved to be a superhit at the box office.
