Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday inaugurated the newly-constructed Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Campus of Rabindranath Tagore University in Hojai. The occasion is being considered as an important milestone for the higher education sector of the state. Built at a total cost of ₹57.34 crore, this state-of-the-art campus has academic buildings, administrative block, Vice Chancellor’s office, CCTV surveillance, intercom system and other modern facilities. This campus will not only ensure a safe and well-organized environment for the students, but will also work to give a new direction to higher education.
New campus equipped with state-of-the-art facilities
Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Campus has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of modern education. During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a special package of ₹50 crore for the overall development of the university. He also informed that a new road will soon be constructed to connect the university to the national highway. This initiative will facilitate the movement of students and teachers and will also increase the reach of the educational institution. The Chief Minister said that the Assam government is constantly striving to strengthen the higher education infrastructure across the state, so that universities can develop as major centers of knowledge, research and innovation.
